My house was filled with flies. I zapped 3 flies. I don’t know what became of their body. I looked forward to killing some more. But in 2 days there were no more flies. I think there is communication. The flies got the message when they saw their friends get killed. I don’t know how they communicated once dead. I once had flea bites just awful all over my legs. I ate yeast. In 38 years I have never had another flea bite, live is same location. They must have told their relatives her blood tastes awful, go somewhere else. But I dont know how a zapped fly told the others to go away. But they were all gone in 2 days.

This electric fly swatter works great! It works for a long time before it needs to be charged (it’s nice to have a rechargeable battery powering the thing!), and it’s pretty good at zapping houseflies and mosquitoes (fruit flies, so-so, but a roll of fly paper works for them). A couple of notes, though:1. Don’t throw away your old manual fly swatter! They have two different uses that each is best for. The electric fly swatter is good for killing flies mid-air and for catching them against a wall, curtain, etc. The manual fly swatter is good for when a fly is sitting against a hard, flat-ish surface (like a wall or radiator pipe), but you can’t easily trap the thing by banging the electric fly swatter flush against the surface. The manual fly swatter is better for this. It’s also good for swatting at flies that are hard-to-reach with the electric fly swatter.2. Practice makes perfect! You won’t be killing tons of flies at first. Every human has a hunting instinct—use yours. Eventually you’ll find a rhythm that works for you. As a bonus, you’ll improve your tennis swing.3. Once you kill a fly (you’ll know by the “snap” noise the fly swatter makes), dump it in the trash/toilet/enemy’s lunch/whatever. If you keep the button pressed, trying to swat another fly, the electric current will continue to pass through the already-deceased fly until it essentially vaporizes it. It’s overkill, and it stinks like burning hair. Be aware, though, that particularly large flies, like horseflies, need to be zapped a few (several) times before they perish.4. If you have housecats, they may be frightened by this. I have no idea why. It could be the sound of the current or the “snap” when you kill a fly; it could be that they’re afraid of being smacked with it?; it could be they’ve befriended your pests and are aggrieved, watching you kill their airborne buddies; it could be that they’re secretly angry because they wanted the opportunity to kill the flies themselves—not that they would, as that’s too much like work—but they resent having the opportunity taken away from them. Who knows? They’re cats. But be forewarned—you might send your kitties scrambling when you whip this baby out.All this said, this product is totally worth the money. Happy hunting!

I bought that to control gnats in my houseplants. Gnats are instantly killed, flies just stunned unless trapped in the mesh and given a longer zap.Anyway build quality is not good. Zapper stopped working after 4 months. Flashlight still gets on, just stopped zapping.I contacted the seller Beastron, since the listing states 1 year warranty. Seller wrote me first to take the zapper apart as a wire may be disconnected. I did that and wires seemed all soldered. When I contacted the seller again I got a response that warranty is only 30 days and they can only offer a 20% discount on a new one.I checked the product page where the warranty is listed as a 1 year warranty.If I could I would give 0 stars.

The media could not be loaded. Used similar one years ago to protect long hair Chihuahua who freaked over flies near his ear hairs. Very effective. Now I’m recovering in a physical rehab center, currently plaqued by flies, gnats & skeeters due to excessive rain. Trying to convince them to “arm” nursing home residents who roam the halls. My nurses’ assistant was first to kill a fly with it. She thinks it is great too.

Does. The. Job. Zap zap. Flies and wasps have been very nasty this summer. Finally bought one of these. I must have killed 20 wasps, flies and mosquitos while at the grill one afternoon. Added benefit -this is a nice quality item and you can gently squash any insects that aren’t a clean kill by squishing them with the side of the zapper. I am very happy with it, neighbors are amused watching me play fly tennis, four thumbs up!Commentary added by flies and wasps – negative impact on insect life expectancy! 😱

Most insects I find in my house I catch and release outside. One of exceptions is pantry moths. I will smack down a moth any day!Pantry moths and I have been at war on and off for about 3 years! I can’t tell you how many boxes of cereal I’ve had to throw away bc a moth decided it was a good place to lay eggs and raise its family.I get a great deal of satisfaction from wacking a flying moth and hearing him fry! This zapper is a game changer and I’m feeling pretty good about the outcome! Fry moths, fry!

The media could not be loaded. Works awesome! We have used it about a week and im being happy with it. We are getting another for the front yard. We were so swamped with bugs that we could not enjoy our patio after dusk. This zapper draws in ALL the bugs and now we can be outside all night if we want with no mosquito bites! Its about 15 feet from our back door and we no longer get bugs in the house either!

But that’s not to mean it’s loud, because it is not.Cleaned out the bottom the next day and I couldn’t believe the number of bugs (see photos).I definitely want another!There were a lot of bugs stuck to the metal rails inside, I found that it was easy to clean using compressed air to blow them off.

It’s not as good as the ones from the 90s. But damn it does its job. Especially since I snipped a couple bars off the safety cage so bigger bugs could fly in there. Often resulting in a 3-minute long horror show that ends with a terrible stench of fried chicken mixed with burnt arm hair.. but that’s the kind of thing you got to be ready for with any good bug zapper. Reminiscent of that dry sponge scene from “The Green Mile”And as far as Bill Gates releasing 150, 000 genetically modified mosquitoes in the United States.. I highly recommend everybody buys one of these right now and starts using it. It’s unclear what role he played In the pandemics beginnings.. but I’m sure there’s something very sinister about those mosquitoes too.Anyways.. the bug zapper, I like to blow mine out once a week with compressed air and operate it without the catch tray installed on the bottom.After 1 month I popped the outer plastic cage downward to release it and use a damp Mr clean pad to lightly clean the bars with it unplugged of course. Had to say that otherwise I’m sure somebody out there will try cleaning it plugged in. Be careful with the d-ring on the top it’s not very strong.
